The Harmony Centre of the University of Vavuniya conjointly with the Students’ Union of the University of Vavuniya arranged and celebrated the “THAI PONGAL” ceremony on 28th of January, 2022, at 12.00 noon in the University premises.

Nearly 200 participants were participated in physical mode and via zoom platform. Pongal was made near the round a board of the main university place and prayer also were happened on that place. Invitees were actively gathered there and Vice Chancellor of the University started the program. Deans of the Faculties, Directors of the Units and Centres, Heads of the Departments, external Council members, religious leaders, academic and non-academic staff members and students were invited and done the prayer for the sun.
