On Tuesday, December 14, 2021, at 7 p.m. (Sri Lankan Time), the Harmony Center of the University of Vavuniya hosted a webinar for undergraduate students and public officials, with 110 participants. The Easter Attack Survivors Project’s co-founder, Ms. Aamina Muhsin, has been asked to appear as a guest speaker on the topic of “Voices of Victims and the Road to Reconciliation”. The participants have a tremendous opportunity to share their understanding of community peace and the value of reconciliation thanks to this informative webinar.


On December 26, 2021, at 3 p.m. (Sri Lankan Time), the Harmony Center of the University of Vavuniya, the Project Management Club of the Department of Project Management, and Friendly ASIA hosted a webinar on National Safety Day 2021 for undergraduate students and public servants. More than 150 people participated. Both Ms. Anoja Seneviratne, Director, Mitigation, Research and Development Division, DMC, and Professor Dilanthi Amarathunga, Professor of Disaster Risk Reduction and Management, Head, Global Disaster Resilience Centre, have been asked to participate as the guest speakers. Guest speakers have given presentations on the topics of Risk-Informed Decision Making on Development Agenda in Pandemic Crisis and Mainstreaming DRR in Development Projects in Sri Lanka, respectively.


On January 3, 2022, at 6 p.m. (Sri Lankan Time), the World University Friends (WUF) and the Harmony Center of the University of Vavuniya held a webinar for undergraduate students and public servants on the topic of Going Beyond Territories of the Identities to Create a Harmonious World Toward Social Reconciliation. Dr. Kuma Iddamallena, a master trainer in NLP and MMVT as well as a personality and leadership training specialist, has been asked to appear as a guest speaker.


The University of Vavuniya's Harmony Centre held its fourth webinar, Rebuilding the Communities Through Harmony Centre, for staff, students, government employees, and community members on February 28, 2022, at 3 p.m. For this virtual session, guest speakers Nahdiya Nasoordeen Danish, LLB (London), Attorney-at-Law (Sri- Lanka), and MHRD (AP-COL) have been invited. The introduction and welcoming speeches for this webinar were given by Mrs. S. Mathivathany, Director, Harmony Center. Additionally, Prof.T.Mangaleswaran, vice chancellor, made a special presentation and supported the Harmony Center’s initiatives. She spoke on fostering peace and unity through a participatory approach, harmony, and reconciliation as well as fostering discourse, developing capacity, learning new languages, uniting diverse religious communities, including children and youth, and encouraging unity through diversity.
