On March 17, 2025, three distinguished professors from VIT, Chennai, India-Dr. N. Ganesh, Dr. S. Geetha, and Dr. R. Renuka Devi-visited the University of Vavuniya. The Vice-Chancellor, Registrar, Director of CFIA, Deans of faculties, Heads of departments, and academic staff participated in discussions on joint publications, research collaborations, ongoing projects at VIT, and potential avenues for partnership.
As part of the visit, a workshop was organized for students, focusing on interactive dashboards for MIS reporting and the use of Generative AI tools to enhance research effectiveness. Following the session, the VIT professors engaged with students to discuss their ongoing and future projects, expressing their willingness to support student research initiatives. Students from the Faculty of Applied Science and the Faculty of Technological Studies actively participated in the workshop.
