The inauguration ceremony for the third batch of the Certificate in Entrepreneurship and Small Business Management (CESBM) program was held on February 15, 2025, at the Park Road premises of the University of Vavuniya. The event marked the commencement of a new academic journey for aspiring entrepreneurs, reinforcing the university’s commitment to fostering entrepreneurial education and small business development.
The ceremony was graced by the presence of esteemed guests, including Mr. S. Santhirabalan, Managing Director of Marutham Pvt. Ltd, and Mr. Thabenthiran, Mullaitivu and Vavuniya Vidatha Officer. The event was further honoured by the participation of the Vice Chancellor, Registrar, Dean of the Faculty of Technological Studies, Dean of the Faculty of Applied Sciences, Director of the Centre for Distance and Continuing Education (CDCE), Director of the University Business Linkage (UBL), Program Coordinator of CESBM, Assistant Registrar of CDCE, and staff members of CDCE.
The program commenced with a welcome speech, followed by remarks from distinguished guests who emphasized the importance of entrepreneurship in economic growth and self-sufficiency. The session concluded with an interactive discussion, encouraging students to leverage the program for their professional and business development. The event successfully set the stage for an enriching learning experience for the new batch of students.
