Inter University Badminton Championship – 2024
The Inter-University Badminton Championships 2024 held at the Indoor Stadium of the University of Kelaniya from November 29 to December 1 on 2024. It was a challenging yet enlightening experience for the men’s and women’s badminton teams from the University of Vavuniya. Lead by captains A.S.A. Paranagama and Vithukshya Chandrakumar, the men’s team faced tough competition, initially losing to the University of Peradeniya and the University of Colombo without scoring any points. However, they redeemed themselves with a strong performance against the University of the Visual and Performing Arts, securing their first victory with a score of 3-0. On the other hand, the women’s team encountered similar challenges, losing their first two matches against the University of Moratuwa and Sabaragamuwa University of Sri Lanka without scoring. In their final match, they showed significant improvement, narrowly losing to the University of the Visual and Performing Arts by just one point, with a score of 2-3.
