Women’s Inter-University Netball Championship 2024, held on the 8th and 9th of November 2024 at Wayamba University of Sri Lanka, featured the University of Vavuniya, led by captain G.A.S. Garusinghe. The team, composed of 9 players, faced tough competition throughout the tournament. In their first match against the University of Moratuwa, Vavuniya struggled, managing to score only 3 goals while their opponents netted an impressive 44 goals, resulting in a decisive victory for Moratuwa. The second match saw the University of Vavuniya pitted against the University of Peradeniya, where they again fell short, scoring 4 goals to Peradeniya’s 31. In their final match against Gampaha Wickramarachchi University of Indigenous Medicine, Vavuniya showed improvement, scoring 22 goals, but still lost narrowly, as their opponents secured 25 goals.
