The Inter University Chess Championship 2024, held on the 7th and 8th of December 2024 at the University of the Visual and Performing Arts, showcased intense competition with 16 universities participating across both men’s and women’s categories. In the women’s section, the team faced a challenging start, beginning with a ranking of 13th after Round 1 and dropping to 14th after Rounds 2 and 3. Despite their struggle, the team fell to 15th after Round 4 but managed to rebound, finishing the tournament in 13th place overall. Conversely, the men’s team displayed a more promising trajectory. Starting at 14th after Round 1, they climbed to 13th after Round 2 but slipped back to 14th after Round 3. However, they improved significantly in the final round, finishing 12th and ultimately achieving a commendable 9th place overall after four rounds of competition
