The Physical Education Unit of the University of Vavuniya had conducted a workshop for Elle Umpires in Tamil medium in collaboration with the Northern Province Elle Association under the guidance of the Sri Lanka National Elle Association during 12th and 13th of March 2022 from 9.00 am to 4.30 pm in the Faculty of Business Studies Lecture Hall and the University Playground. This workshop was the first Tamil medium workshop in Sri Lanka for Elle umpires.
Dr. T. Mangaleswaran, Vice-Chancellor of the University of Vavuniya has participated as the Chief Guest at the inaugural event. Dr. M. Kayanan, Chairman, University Sports Advisory board, and Mr. Krishnanathan, Assistant Registrar, Students welfare division have participated as Special Guest and Guest of Honor, respectively.
Around 167 participants had attended, including 127 men and 40 women, as coaches and sports teachers from various districts of Sri Lanka. Five resource persons from the Sri Lanka Elle federation were present at the event as resource persons. At the end of the session, a written test and certificates were given to the participants.
