The Workshop organized by the SDC in collaboration with the Center for Gender Equity and Equality of the University of Jaffna on “Preventing Sexual & Gender Based Violence” was held on 22nd January 2020 from 9.00 am – 04.00 pm to Academic, Administrative & Non-Academic staff at Balakrishnan Block, Faculty of Business Studies, Vavuniya Campus of the University of Jaffna. Dr.K.Pakeerathan and Mrs.Thushani Sayanthan, Senior Lecturers from the University of Jaffna & Miss.N.Udhayani Women Development Officer from the District Secretariat Jaffna, served as Resource persons for this Workshop. Participants gained more knowledge about the GEE, SGBV in general life, functions of CGEE and election procedures. The participants had the opportunity to work as Groups and presented the identified issues and preventive mechanisms on SGBV.
