The Workshop on “Current Tax System in Sri Lanka” was organized by the Staff Development Centre of University of Vavuniya on 09 th August 2023 from 01.30 pm to 04.30 pm at the Soosiratinam Block (SH4 Hall) in the Faculty of Business Studies, University of Vavuniya. This workshop was organized for the all-permanent Staff. Mr. P.Sivapalan & Ms.V.Sukanthy Assistant Commissioners Department of Inland Revenue, attached to the Regional Office Jaffna served as the resource persons for this Workshop. A total of 55 participants participated to this workshop. Participants gained more knowledge about the Current Tax System in Sri Lanka, Tax rate / relief changes, Withholding Tax on Employment Income, and Taxation of retirement benefits. Participants also verified their doubts and discussed about the Tax Policy in Sri Lanka.
