IEEE Student Branch Inauguration Ceremony & AGM

The inauguration ceremony and the first Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the IEEE Student Branch, Vavuniya Campus of the University of Jaffna was held on 04th of July 2018 at Lecture Hall 1, Faculty of Applied Science, Pampaimadhu premises.

The event was organized by the IEEE Student Branch and Department of Physical Science jointly. The Chairman (Past) Dr. Sanath Jayawardhana, Chairman (Elect) Prof. Chandimal Jayawardhana and the Students Activity Chair Mr. Peshan Sampath from IEEE Sri Lanka Section and Eng. (Ms) Maityhilee Thayaparan from Electricity Board, Vavuniya, Eng. M. Maheswaran from Sri Lanka Telecom participated as invited guests. Also, the Rector of the Campus, Dean of the Faculty of Applied Science and Heads of the Department of Physical Science and English Language Teaching including the staff members and third and fourth year students of the Department of Physical Science participated in this occasion.

The election for selecting office bearers was conducted by Eng. M. Maheshwaran and the distinguished guests addressed to the audience. Prof. Chandimal Jayawardhana delivered an amazing keynote speech on Robotics. The event was concluded with vote thanks by the Secretary of the IEEE Student Branch.
