The Training Session on “Mental Health” was organized by the Staff Development Centre in collaboration with Medical Centre, University of Vavuniya on 23rd August 2023 from 01.30 pm to 04.30 pm at the Balakrishnan Block (BH3 & BH4 Hall) in the Faculty of Business Studies, University of Vavuniya. This session was organized for the Permanent and Temporary – Academic and Academic support staff, Deputy Registrar / Students & Welfare Division, Proctor, Deputy- Proctor, Marshall, Sub-Wardens, and Student Counsellors. Dr. S. Sivathas, Psychiatrist attached to the Teaching Hospital, Jaffna and Dr. Dimuthu Mahendra, Psychiatrist attached to General Hospital, Vavuniya served as the resource persons for this training sessions, for Tamil and Sinhala medium respectively. A total of 62 participants participated to the Tamil medium session and 10 participants participated to Sinhala medium session. Participants gained knowledge about the wellbeing, mental health, and understood the path to a resilient and peaceful life that can benefit.
