The Career Guidance Unit of the University of Vavuniya organized a Leadership Training Program for undergraduates from January 27th to 30th, 2025. The program was conducted in collaboration with Vision Global Empowerment, Sri Lanka, and the Ratnam Foundation, UK, and was held on the university premises.
The program aimed to enhance the personal and professional leadership skills of the participants. It focused on self-reflection and practical application of leadership concepts. Participants explored the qualities of an effective leader and developed their own definitions of leadership. The training covered various aspects of personal leadership skills, enabling participants to identify and cultivate their strengths.
Thirty-five selected undergraduates actively participated in the program. They gained valuable leadership skills through interactive sessions and group activities. On the final day, the participants, divided into groups, presented social action plans for future implementation. These plans were developed with the support of Vision Global Empowerment, ensuring their feasibility and potential impact.
The program concluded with a certificate distribution ceremony. The Vice Chancellor of the University presented certificates to each participant, recognizing their successful completion of the training. The Leadership Training Program proved to be highly impactful, equipping the undergraduates with essential skills to excel as future leaders.
