The AIA Insurance Lanka Limited and the University of Vavuniya signed a Memorandum of Understanding to facilitate academic collaboration, knowledge exchange, and capacity building to execute the spirit of cooperation between the parties in order to develop competent insurance professionals to serve the region and the nation. The signing event held on 07th February 2025 at Board room, Faculty of Business Studies, University of Vavuniya. AIA is a long-term insurance provider in Sri Lanka offering customized insurance services to its customers by providing a range of tailor-made insurance solutions.
Prof. A. Atputharajah, Vice-Chancellor University of Vavuniya, Prof. Y. Nanthagopan, Dean, Faculty of Business Studies, Dr. K. Kalainathan, Head, Department of Finance and Accountancy other heads of Department, Registrar, Bursar and Lecturers from Department of Finance and Accountancy have represented on behalf of the University of Vavuniya. Mr.Chanaka Liyanage, Chief Agency Officer, Mr.Selavarajan Kandasamy, Provincial Manager of AIA, Northern Region, Mr. P.P.K.Piayasena, Branch Manager, Mr.Arumugam Thushiyanthan,Manager AIA Sirlanka Academey have represented AIA Insurance Lanka Limited. The MoU entails various mutual benefits to the AIA and University of Vavuniya. Accordingly, the AIA will offer the internship opportunity to the students and will facilitate the participation to students in workshops, seminars, training programs, experience sharing events, and other professional initiatives.
The AIA and the University of Vavuniya to collaboratively organize competencies and skills development initiatives for the undergraduates and enhancing the employability of undergraduates of the Department of Finance and Accountancy of the Faculty of Business Studies, University of Vavuniya through capacity building initiatives.
