The Support Center for Persons with Disabilities (SCPD) orchestrated a special meeting wherein Dr. V. Sarveswaran, Chairman of Assist Resettlement & Renaissance (Assist RR), accompanied by Mr. Mark Penney and Mrs. Donna E. Penney from Solihull School in the United Kingdom, visited the University of Vavuniya on March 7, 2024. During their visit, discussions ensued between the Vice-Chancellor of the University of Vavuniya, the Director, members of the Management Committee of SCPD, and the Registrar, focusing on potential future initiatives of SCPD. The agenda encompassed deliberations on progress activities utilizing the donated funds, the procurement of mobility aids using donated funds, and exploring opportunities for additional financial assistance and support to enhance disabled-friendly infrastructure for the students’ benefit. The meeting concluded successfully with positive discussions.
