The Christian Society, in collaboration with the Harmony Centre, organized the Light Festival “Gaudium Natalis” of the University of Vavuniya on the 11th of December 2024 at 3.30 PM.
His Lordship Ret. Rev. Dr. Emmanual Fernando, the Bishop of the Mannar Diocese, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest along with Rev. Fr. Christunayagam, the Vicar General of the Diocese of Mannar; Professor A. Atputharajah, the Vice Chancellor of the University of Vavuniya; and Rev. Fr. Soosainayagam, Parish Priest at Divine Mercy Shrine Pampaimad.
Around 500 participants have participated, including Rev. Fathers, Rev. Sisters, pastors of Christian ministries and churches, deans of the faculties, the registrar, the bursar, academics, administrative and staff members of the university, and students of all faculties.
Various performances have been performed by the students’ including carol songs in Sinhala, Tamil, and English, and dramas depicting the birth of Jesus Christ.
