The Physical Education Unit of the University of Vavuniya organized the 3rd Anniversary Road Race competition on 22nd February 2025. The event featured four categories: Under 15 Men, Under 15 Women, over 15 Men, and Over 15 Women. The race commenced at 7:15 AM, starting from the University of Vavuniya park road premises to concluding at Pambaimadu.
The Chief Guest for the occasion was the Vice Chancellor of the University, Prof. Arulampalam Atputharajah, and Mr. T. Kanthasamy served as the Special Guest. The prize-giving ceremony took place at 9:00 AM in front of the IT Center at the University of Vavuniya.
In the Under 15 categories, S. Anushan -V/Suntharapuram G. T. M. S secured first place for Boys, while T. Abishalini – V/Mathar panikkar mahilankulam J. S.V took first place for Girls. In the Over 15 Men’s category, I. Vikirthan – V/Poovarasankulam.M.V was the winner, and R. Gowshiya – University of Vavuniya claimed first place in the Over 15 Women’s category.
Prizes were distributed for the top three winners in each category, with cash prizes awarded by our Chief Guest and Special Guest. Additionally, trophies were presented to the top ten winners, and all participants received certificates for their involvement in the Road Race competition.
At the conclusion of the event, Mr. R. Sivasegaran expressed gratitude to everyone who contributed to the success of the competition
