The Inaugural Event of the SLUSA Interuniversity Elle championship was ceremonially inaugurated at the University of Vavuniya on 6th January, 2023 at the university playground. Fourteen Universities have participated in the championship including our university team. Vice Chancellor, Registrar, Council members, Chairman and committee members from University sports advisory board, Directors, Instructors, Coaches, delegates, referees, other invitees and the student athletes. This place is a valuable milestone in the history of the University of Vavuniya as this is the first time the university has got an opportunity to conduct the interuniversity championship. This Elle tournament lasts until 8th January, and the matches have started playing with the cheers from the Vice chancellor, University of Vavuniya.
