We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Mr. K. Uthayakumar, the esteemed proprietor of Uthayan Agro Services (Pvt) Ltd., situated on 1st Cross Street, Vavuniya. We sincerely appreciate their generous donation consisting of 188 Pongam oil trees and 22 Christina plants, as well as their installation of a tube well and solar-powered drip irrigation system. This initiative involves the plantation and irrigation along a distance of approximately 1.4 kilometers, spanning from Gate 1 to Gate 4 on the premises side of the Vavuniya to Mannar Road.
We are implementing this donation project as part of our ‘Development of Landscape and Green Environment Program,’ and the tree plantation, as well as the handing over of the installed tube well and solar panel, took place on 3rd October 2023.
During this event, the esteemed donor personally handed over the completed solar-powered drip irrigation system to the Prof. T. Mangaleswaran, Vice Chancellor, University of Vavuniya.; and academic, executive and non-academic staffs are taken part of this event.
