The Christion Society, in collaboration with the Harmony Centre, organized the Light Festival “Gaudium Natalis” of the University of Vavuniya on the 11th of December 2024 at 3.30 PM.
His Lordship Ret. Rev. Dr. Emmanual Fernando the Bishop of the Mannar Diocese, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest along with Rev. Fr. Christunayagam the Vicar General of the Diocese of Mannar, Professor A. Atputharajah the Vice Chancellor University of Vavuniya, Rev. Fr. Soosainayagam, Parish Priest at Divine Mercy Shrine Pampaimad.
Around 500 participants have participated including Rev. Fathers Rev. Sisters Pasters of Christin Ministries and Churches, Deans of the Faculties, Registrar, Bursar, Academics, Administrative and staff members of the university, and Students of All faculties.
Various performances have been performed by the students’ including carol songs in Sinhala, Tamil, and English, and dramas depicting the birth of Jesus Christ.
